About the Brand

A Note from the Founder

From Endurance to Intentional Living

There was a season in my life when I became the person people called first.

The one who could handle it.
The steady one.
The advisor.
The anchor.

I stepped into caregiving, decision-making, and showing up for others, sometimes without even realizing I had said yes. It felt natural. Expected. Like breathing.

I supported family. Guided friends. Carried responsibilities that arrived without invitation, because that’s often how it unfolds for us.

And somewhere in the middle of being everything for everyone else, I stopped giving myself permission to slow down. To feel. To name what I was carrying.

There was always someone who needed me.

If you’re reading this, you might recognize that pattern.

As Black women, we are often shaped, quietly or loudly, to be capable without complaint. Composed under pressure. Strong without question. We endure. We adapt. We move forward quickly. Strength becomes second nature. Responsibility becomes identity.

And over time, self-sacrifice starts to feel… normal. Even invisible.

Until one day, you realize you’ve been strong for everyone,  but rarely gentle with yourself.

That realization changed everything for me.

It also reshaped how I understand the idea of the Strong Black Woman.

For too long, strength has been defined as endurance without pause,  the ability to carry more, give more, withstand more.

I believe strength is something else.

The Strong Black Woman honors her foundation by practicing the courage to set boundaries, the wisdom to prioritize her own restoration, and the grace to care for and pour love into others without ever abandoning herself.

That is the strength we cultivate here.

With over a decade in advisory and support roles within complex systems,  alongside years connected to mental health awareness and wellness work, I came to understand something deeper:

Endurance is only one kind of strength.
Discernment is strength.
Boundaries are strength.
Rest is strength.

As the author of Grown, Black, Glorious, Healing in Her Prime, and Caregiver, But Still Me, my work centers Black women navigating midlife, caregiving, shifting identities, and the quiet, necessary work of restoration. I write with structure and heart, blending lived experience, research-informed insight, and practical tools women can actually use.

This is not about motivational quotes or quick fixes.

It is about sustainable recalibration.

Grown Black Glorious was born from a deliberate decision to redefine strength, not as silent depletion, but as intentional preservation.

This space exists for women who have mastered responsibility and are now ready to master restoration.

Not because we are broken.
Because we are worthy.
