My Story: From Survival to Thriving
I'm Celeste M. Blake, a writer and creator of Afro-Caribbean descent with over a decade of experience in the mental health field. I am the author of Grown, Black, Glorious, Healing in Her Prime, and Caregiver, But Still Me, which cater to the emotional and mental wellness of Black women, more specifically those over 40.
But before I was a wellness advocate, I was a Black woman struggling under the weight of everyone else's expectations.
When I lost my mother, I became the “strong one” overnight, raising my sister’s children while managing my own grief, my career, and the constant pressure to hold it all together. No one asked if I was okay. They just assumed I could handle it, because that's what we do as Black women, right?
We push through. We survive. We endure.
But here's the truth I was not prepared for: Survival is not the same as living.
My healing journey began with a simple journal and five minutes of honesty. Those five minutes led to boundaries, to rest, to reclaiming my peace. They taught me that my worth wasn't measured by how much I could endure, but by how well I could love myself.
Now, I create wellness tools to help other Black women do the same.
My mission is simple: to help Black women embrace self-love, rest, and balance while building lives filled with confidence, healing, and joy.
